ABSTRACT
This archived webcast* will focus on vascular, cardiac, and interventional radiography. Part I will identify and describe various types of equipment and contrast media used during vascular, cardiac, and interventional procedures, including indications and contraindications for each. This course will also address pre- and post-procedural patient care as well as techniques utilized during these procedures, such as the Seldinger technique. Major elements of the human circulatory anatomy on radiographs and other imaging media will be explored, and sterile techniques that are used when performing these procedures will be discussed.
