  • Course Description and objectives:

    Course Description
    This archived webcast will focus on vascular, cardiac, and interventional radiography. Part II will expand upon the technical and positioning considerations when performing specific procedures. Certain techniques utilized during these procedures, such as the Seldinger technique, will be highlighted. This course will also identify the contrast media used during the procedures, including indications and contraindications. Descriptions of all procedures within the ARRT specifications will be addressed, as well as future trends in vascular, cardiac, and interventional radiography.

    Learning Objectives
    After completing this activity, the participant should be able to:

    • RESTATE interventional radiographic procedures involving the use of contrast media.
    • IDENTIFY the contrast media used during interventional radiographic procedures, including indications and contraindications.
    • EXPLAIN the technical and positioning considerations in performing the interventional radiographic procedures.
    • LIST alternative imaging modalities and procedures utilized in visualizing the circulatory system.
    • OUTLINE future trends in vascular, cardiac, and interventional radiography.

  • CE Information:

    In order to receive CE credit, you must first complete the activity content. When completed, go to the "Take CE Test!" link to access the post-test.

    Submit the completed answers to determine if you have passed the post-test assessment. You must answer 12 out of 14 questions correctly to receive CE credits. You will have no more than 3 attempts to successfully complete the post-test.

    Participants successfully completing the activity content and passing the post-test will receive 1.5 ARRT Category A credits.

    Approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists for ARRT Category A credit.

    Approved by the state of Florida for ARRT Category A credit.

    Texas direct credit.

    This activity may be available in multiple formats or from different sponsors. ARRT does not allow CE activities such as Internet courses, home study programs, or directed readings to be repeated for CE credit in the same biennium.
