$7,500 SIGN ON BONUS! Under the general supervision of the CT Scan Supervisor, the CT Technologist provides CT skills and initiatives to the department mission through interactions with staff, and others as necessary. Primary duties are to work as a Technologist on either East Newton or Harrison Avenue campus while also implementing policy and procedures as determined necessary through CT Scan Supervisor and Radiology Administrative Director. Operates a CT (computed tomography) scanner to perform technologist duties as required and necessary for proper departmental work flow. Performs appropriate studies as determined through policy and procedure. Follows requisition in terms of providing proper study for patients. Ensures that exams requested match patient condition and/or history and calls or asks the appropriate persons for more information as necessary to perform the proper study. Prepares patient for exams as required and insures patient comfort and modesty at all times. Accommodates patient needs and staffing needs through flexibility in scheduling and timeliness of studies. Sets up equipment as necessary and uses proper imaging techniques. Adjusts imaging factors when necessary to improve study or quality factors. Works through radiologists requirements to provide appropriate images and provides additional views and variations of techniques as requested. Completes procedures in timely fashion while providing quality images for Radiology and outside departments. Completes work by the end of the shift or communicates with coworkers about work needing completion. Participate in intravenous (IV) training, and passes all competencies required to start and administer IV contrast material under the general observation of a qualified physician, as per department policy and procedure. Maintains equipment through interaction with both management and department service vendors to maximize equipment up time, patient care, and minimize dollar impact to the hospital. Performs patient focused customer service and ensures the following standards are met appropriately and achieved. Communicates patient complaints professionally to the appropriate supervisor.

Required Skills and Certifications

Education: Must be a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations required: Work requires knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology and CT and the operation and maintenance of Radiologic equipment generally acquired through the completion of two years post-high school training in an approved school of radiologic technology.Other in-house and on-the-job training also required.MRST, AART required. CT license preferred.State license required and all applicable radiology education requirements.Experience: Minimum 1-2 years experience in diagnostic radiology, experience in CT preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Must possess analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques and procedures and cross sectional anatomy. Working knowledge of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
