ABSTRACT
The goal of this video-based course is to introduce radiologic technologists (RTs) and other healthcare professionals to computed tomography (CT) imaging. This is an introductory course and will serve as a review of basic concepts in CT for seasoned RTs. This course will begin by reviewing the history of CT. Next, it will go on to explain the advantages and risks of performing a CT imaging study. The remainder of the course will discuss how a CT image is produced, the purpose of contrast media, CT procedures, and related cross-sectional images and associated pathologies.
